Wye Valley Walk

Tourism website, visual identity and development

We were approached by board members for the Wye Valley Area of National Beauty, who were looking to redevelop their existing website. The main goal for the new website is to inform and show off the beautiful Wye Valley Walk, a 136 mile adventure starting from the source of the River Wye in mid Wales down to the Severn. This was done through using engaging photography, videos and exciting illustrations throughout the website.

A very popular aspect of the walk is where walkers can collect stamps when they complete a section of the walk, there are 17 stamps in total. To encourage users to return to the walk and use the website, we developed a digital version of this passport. This was done by creating a members area, where walkers can sign in and view their digital passport and achievements. The digital passport is a direct link between the walk and the member's digital passport, all done through QR codes which can be seen along the route, thus creating a gamification feel, engaging users, for them to feel proud of their achievements and share with others.
